In 2018, a record high of five physician legislators will be included among the ranks of the Georgia General Assembly.


Mind Matters recently spoke with Georgia's newest physician legislator, Dr. Kay Kirkpatrick. A former hand surgeon and co-President of Resurgens Orthopaedics for many years, Mind Matters wanted to find out how she got interested in public service and what she foresees in her legislative future.


Once a month, Dr. K takes Dobie, her twelve-year old Goldendoodle, to volunteer as a therapy dog at Ronald McDonald House.

The Georgia Physicians Leadership Academy (GPLA) was established by MAG in 2007 to develop physician leaders who will enhance the medical profession and the health care system and the quality of life in the state. 

 

GPPA Treasurer Sultan Simms, MD has been accepted to GPLA Class X and President-Elect Yolanda Graham recently graduated with Class IX, saying "It was a wonderful experience and well worth it,"
